MedinCell is a privately owned corporation with the majority of its shares held by its management and employees to ensure a cohesive strategy. MedinCell is located in France, and depends on a holding based in Zurich.
MedinCell was founded in 2002 by Michel VERT, the discoverer of the Medingel technology, and by a group of scientific and business associates that includes Anh NGUYEN, the founder of Invitrogen (Nasdaq IVGN), and Pr. Franck STURTZ of the University of Limoges, France.
In 2003, MedinCell was prized at the “Concours ANVAR National” (a national competitive grant from the French R&D ministry) which rewards and subsidizes (financially supports) the French Companies with the most innovative research program).
In 2004, MedinCell was granted the status of "Jeune Entreprise Innovante” (Young Innovative Company status) by the Ministry of R&D and the French “IRS” which gives a 5 years reduction on research salary taxes.
In 2005 the SORIDEC, a Regional French Public Investor, has invested in MedinCell’s capital. The same year, the Medingel™ technology was prized as one of the 30 most promising medical technologies in Europe.
From April 2006, MedinCell has started its business development with a keen interest on human and animal health markets. |
