We are seeking a Polymer scientist in our Montpellier (Jacou) facility to participate in our ongoing success as a socially responsible company dedicated to Global Health.

As Polymer Scientist you will participate in the innovation and development of new polymer-based technologies within the research and innovation department at MedinCell. You will be directly responsible for an assigned research study and contribute to the dynamic of the team by participating in and contributing to regular team meetings.

You will collaborate closely with the members of the research and innovation department, including formulation scientists and biologists, as well as other materials scientists, in order to improve the materials platform and performance.

Responsibilities :

  • Assume responsibility for your own research study within the innovation group, including the development of study designs and operational plans
  • Design synthetic routes and characterization of new polymers by conventional techniques (NMR, GPC, DSC, viscosimetry, rheology)
  • Contribute to design and assess of polymer properties and performance, specifically in terms of formulability, drug delivery and degradation. Optimize the polymers as a function of this assessment
  • Collaborate on the maintenance of the stock of polymers used with research purposes
  • Perform literature review to efficiently design study plans and to remain abreast of new developments in materials science
  • Compile and analyze data to deepen understanding and extend current knowledge
  • Present processed data in English
  • Prepare scientific reports of the generated data for good traceability
  • Work closely with other team members and perform activities in response to priorities

Experience and Education

  • PhD or Master/Engineer degree in chemistry (at least 3 years experience in polymer synthesis)
  • Strong experience in polymer syntheses and characterization of aliphatic polymers
  • Experience in material science and characterization
  • Knowledge of drug delivery



  • Strong knowledge in polymer synthesis and organic chemistry
  • Experience on the fields of biomaterials and/or drug delivery
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn and deepen your knowledge in polymer science and drug delivery
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent and concise communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and international environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work with others in a highly collaborative environment

Language and computer

  • Fluent in English
  • Strong proficiency and experience in writing scientific documents in English
  • Complete proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
